Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, Spain, Madrid

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is located on the Mall of the Arts in Madrid (like the other two Spanish museums - the Prado Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum). This avenue is very popular among tourists because it is really beautiful there.

This museum contains paintings by artists who are glorified all over the world (Gauguin, Caravaggio, Van Gogh, Dürer, etc.).

History of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum very confused. In 1993, the Spanish government bought a collection of paintings from Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza. His father also loved art and therefore collected paintings. Therefore, we can say that this age of this collection is more than 100 years old. There were 525 paintings in it, but after the death of Heinrich (father of Hans), all the property was distributed among relatives, and the paintings were distributed in different cities, and even countries. After some time, Hans bought all the paintings, thereby reviving the collection of his father.

Hans kept the paintings in Lugano (Switzerland), but this place was not enough, and after the beginning of the search for a new building, the Spanish government made him an offer that was difficult to refuse, given the place in the city center (next to the Prado Museum). But as usual, not a single deal can do without women. Hans Carmen Server's wife (Miss Spain title holder) helped her husband decide.

There are a lot of halls in the museum. All paintings are arranged in chronological order, starting from the 13th century, and ending with modern art.

Until now, the Bornemisza family buys paintings in the museum in memory of his relatives, who began to collect this collection. All the paintings they bought are exhibited in the halls. In 2004, space for the exhibition was not enough, and it was decided to expand the museum.

The new museum building is magnificent. It combined the construction of the old and the new model. It turned out very interesting. Now a terrace is provided for visitors, from where a magnificent view of the museum square opens. The museum also has a restaurant, various concerts and performances are held.
